We have always had dogs that had to be groomed regularly. We decided we wanted what we call "wash and wear dogs". Papillons! We have discovered the joy of raising these delightful little dogs. Each one is unique and special. We take them on trips with us. They love to ride in the car and are well behaved in motels. If you have a Papillon, you know what I mean when I say that they fill our home with smiles and entertainment. We live in Meadview, AZ. We are close to the west view of the Grand Canyon and the picture scene of the Grand Wash Cliffs on our Home page are located just behind our house. Not much green here. Cactus, Joshua Trees, and lots of desert, thus the name Desert Papillons. We have a special yard for the Papillons to protect them from predators. It is fenced in with snake proof wire (we have rattlesnakes, and even worse, the Green Mohave) and the pen is covered with netting (we have owls, hawks, and coyotes). The entry is through the dog door in the house. We live on 2 1/2 acres that is fenced and with our big dogs outside, a Blue Heeler and a Shepherd/Lab mix, our pets are well protected.
